Sunday was spent at the Fort Lauderdale Pride Parade and had a great time hanging with my gay peeps. It has been great to see this event grow and develop over the last several years from a few hundred to several thousands of people. The drag queens valiantly worked the crowds in full regalia despite a hot day of 90+ temps and full South Florida humidity. Now living very close to Wilton Manors, the gay neighborhood/entertainment area of town, I took advantage of my walking distance locale this year. While many spent the day celebrating Father's Day. I was happy for the distraction since the day's festivities kept my mind off the fact that I have no real relationship with my own father.
After a break at home from the heat and time to clean up, I met up with some friends to walk around a bit more. We finished off the day with some Tapas as a local spot where we all agreed that the fresh mozzarella was some of the best we ever had. The Italian cheesecake was pretty good too.
